Two birthdays close together can mean two parties, two guest lists and two weekends of planning. A joint party combines them into one celebration. It works well for twins, for siblings with birthdays a few weeks apart and for two best friends who share a month. Here is how to make it feel special for both children.
Why a joint party works
One room, one cake table and one set of pizzas cost less and take less time than two parties. Kids also enjoy sharing the day, especially when they have the same friends. The key is making sure each child feels like the guest of honour.
Give each child a moment
The biggest worry at a joint party is that one child gets more attention. A few small choices fix that.
- Let each child choose one activity or game.
- Use two cakes or one cake with two sections, so each child has their own candles.
- Sing separately, even if the candles are lit at the same time.
- Take a photo with each child alone and one together.
For twins, keep the theme neutral and let each child pick a favourite colour for their own touches. For siblings with different ages, choose activities that suit both and avoid anything too young or too advanced.
Plan the guest list
Two guest lists can add up quickly. Start with each child’s closest friends and agree on a shared total before sending invitations. Mixed guest lists work well when you invite everyone to one start time and let kids mingle. If the children are in different grades or circles, a short get-to-know-you game early in the party helps everyone relax.
Count siblings and cousins in your headcount from the start. It is easy to forget them and end up over capacity.
Check the capacity before you book
Headcount decides which package fits. At Kart Town, each party package has an included number of kids and a maximum:
- Cancun, $328 plus HST: 8 kids included, up to 10 total, with $30 per extra child. Bird room with 3 tables and 15 seats.
- Hawaii, $388 plus HST: 8 kids included, up to 10 total, with $35 per extra child. Dino room with 4 tables and 17 seats.
- Rio, $638 plus HST: 15 kids included, up to 20 total, with $35 per extra child. Monkey room with 5 tables and 25 seats.
For two small guest lists of four to five kids each, Cancun or Hawaii fits. For larger groups, Rio gives you room for up to 20 children. Every party runs 2 hours and includes the playground, the bouncy castle, a toy car area, an activity coordinator and wristbands.
Splitting the cost is a family decision. Many parents divide the package price evenly, and a shared package often costs each family less than a party of their own.
What is included
All Kart Town packages include pizza and juice boxes. Cancun and Hawaii include 2 XL cheese pizzas and 8 juice boxes, and Rio includes 3 XL cheese pizzas and 15 juice boxes. Cancun includes 1 adventure of 10 laps and 50 Kart Koins, while Hawaii includes 2 adventures of 20 laps and 50 Koins, and Rio includes 2 adventures with 100 Koins. Basic outside food is allowed, and there is a cake discount, which makes it simple to bring two cakes. Kart Town uses Classic Karts only, and the track is shared with the public.
Light decorations are welcome. Confetti, loose balloons and piñatas are not allowed, so plan any theme with that in mind.
Adults at a joint party
Two families means more grown-ups. Up to two adults per child can enter the facility with the purchase of a party package, and additional adults are $5 each. Adults are not allowed in the playground or bouncy castle, but they can watch from the party area.

Tips for a fair joint party
Agree on the budget between families before you book, and decide early who handles the invitations, the cake and the goodie bags. A shared message thread keeps everyone on the same page. If one family has more guests, it is reasonable to split the cost by headcount rather than evenly.
Keep the schedule simple. Arrival and free play come first, then pizza, then the cake moment, then a little more play before pickup. When both children are involved in each step, neither feels like a guest at the other’s party.
Finally, talk to the children before the day. Ask each one what matters most to them, whether it is a favourite game, a certain flavour of cake or sitting next to a best friend. A few small yeses go a long way.
Joint party FAQ
How many kids can come to a joint party?
Cancun and Hawaii include 8 kids and allow up to 10. Rio includes 15 kids and allows up to 20.
Can we bring two cakes?
Yes. Basic outside food is allowed and there is a cake discount, so two cakes are easy to arrange.
Is a joint party cheaper than two separate parties?
Often it is, because the families share one package. The saving depends on the package and how you split it.
Can the children have different themes?
Yes, within the light decoration rules. A shared colour palette with a small personal touch for each child is an easy compromise.
How many adults can come with each child?
Up to two adults per child can enter with a party package. Additional adults are $5 each.
