“Two Fast” has become one of the most popular themes for a second birthday, and it is easy to see why. It is a playful pun on a racing movie title, it works with almost any colour scheme, and it gives you a clear way to decorate and plan without much effort. If your child is turning two, a racing-themed party can be warm, simple and fun for every guest.
The key to a successful second birthday is remembering who the guests are: toddlers who are still learning to share, who tire easily and who like short bursts of activity. This guide covers how to keep a Two Fast party simple, from decorations to food to the structure of the day.
What makes a second birthday different
A two-year-old does not need a long program. Most toddlers enjoy a party for an hour or two, with plenty of room to move and a short break for food and cake. A good second birthday has a few features:
- A familiar, safe space where children can move freely
- A short schedule with natural breaks
- Food that toddlers actually eat
- Parents close by, since many two-year-olds still need a hand

Decorating a Two Fast party
The racing theme gives you a ready-made palette. Black and white checkered patterns, red, yellow and a splash of your child’s favourite colour work well. Keep it light and flat:
- A checkered table cover
- A banner that reads “Two Fast” or your child’s name
- Small road-sign cutouts, such as a stop sign or a speed limit sign showing the number 2
- A number 2 on the cake
At Kart Town, parties use light decorations only. Confetti, loose balloons and piñatas are not part of the party, so a table cover, a banner and a few printed signs are the right scale. See our guide to mess-free birthday decoration ideas for more.
Where racing meets toddler-safe play
A racing theme sounds ambitious for a two-year-old, but the setting matters. At Kart Town, children aged 2 to 9 are welcome, and there is plenty for the youngest guests that does not involve the track:
- Toy car area: a gentle place where toddlers can sit in small cars, which suits a Two Fast theme perfectly.
- Playground and bouncy castle: open play space with supervision. Adults are not allowed inside these areas, so a parent usually waits nearby.
- Go-karts: riders must be at least 31 inches (80 cm) tall. If your child is between 31 and 42 inches (107 cm), ask staff about riding with a parent. Kids over 42 inches drive on their own. The combined weight limit is 220 lb (100 kg).
Because many two-year-olds are near the minimum height, some guests will ride and some will not. That is normal and easy to manage when the party also includes other activities.
How a Kart Town party is structured
Parties are two hours long and include the playground, bouncy castle, toy car area, an activity coordinator and wristbands. You receive a custom email invitation and a blank invitation PDF, which you can edit for your Two Fast theme. There are three packages:
- Cancun, $328 + HST: 8 kids (up to 10, +$30 per extra child), the Bird room with 3 tables and 15 seats, 1 adventure (10 laps), 50 Kart Koins, 2 XL cheese pizzas and 8 juice boxes.
- Hawaii, $388 + HST: 8 kids (up to 10, +$35 per extra child), the Dino room with 4 tables and 17 seats, 2 adventures (20 laps), 50 Kart Koins, 2 XL cheese pizzas and 8 juice boxes.
- Rio, $638 + HST: 15 kids (up to 20, +$35 per extra child), the Monkey room with 5 tables and 25 seats, 2 adventures (20 laps), 100 Kart Koins, 3 XL cheese pizzas and 15 juice boxes.
For a second birthday, many families choose Cancun, because a toddler party often has a smaller guest list and fewer children who will use the track. Go-karts are Classic Karts only and the track is shared with other guests.
Food for toddlers
Pizza and juice are included. Basic outside food is allowed, and there is a cake discount, so you can bring a birthday cake or cupcakes. For a two-year-old crowd, think about adding soft fruit such as banana slices or grapes cut lengthwise, cheese cubes and plain crackers. Keep in mind that toddlers can be messy eaters, and bring wipes.
A simple Two Fast schedule
- First 30 minutes: arrivals, wristbands and free play in the toy car area and playground.
- Next 30 minutes: bouncy castle and active play.
- Next 30 minutes: pizza, juice and cake in the party room.
- Last 30 minutes: a little more play, goodbyes and a photo with the birthday child.
Adjust it to your group. Toddlers do best when the order flexes with their mood.
Practical tips for parents
- Plan the party around nap time. Mornings or just after a nap usually work best.
- Keep the guest list modest. A smaller group is calmer for two-year-olds.
- Bring a change of clothes for the birthday child.
- Note that 8 kids or fewer, weekday parties and private rentals are arranged by phone at (437) 660-5278.
